Comfortable Interior
Jeep® Compass raises the bar in style and comfort with a fresh looking cabin
that includes softer and higher-grade materials, bright chrome accents and
more. LED-backlight gauges, padded door armrests and a padded center console
are just a few of the touches that refine the rugged reputation of Jeep®.
The 2010 Compass also offers standard map dome lights, a leather wrapped
park brake handle (only standard on Limited) and an available remote
start[6] for convenience. And the comfort level has been increased with an
available six-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, heated front
seats, and rear reclining seats. And a fold-flat front passenger seat adds
even more to Compass's already excellent versatility.
2.4L I-4 engine (28 mpg hwy)
Compass's 2.4L DOHC I-4 engine is one of the greenest on the planet. This
year's model gets an EPA-estimated 28 mpg highway[3], making it the most HWY
fuel efficient 4WD in America[2]. And is also classified as a Partial Zero
Emissions Vehicle, or PZEV. This means that the vehicle meets the Super Low
Emission Vehicle (SULEV) tailpipe emission standards and has zero
evaporative emissions from its fuel system. So while you're conquering
nature, you're helping save it. Last year, the equally fuel efficient 2.0L
World Engine was developed and is still available on Compass Sport 4x2.
Freedom Drive I™ 4WD
A Jeep® Trail Rated® badge is found on all 4x4s that pass a series of
grueling tests designed to prove off-road capability on the world's most
demanding terrain. Compass's state-of-the-art Freedom-Drive I™ is used to
conquer this terrain. The active full-time 4WD system anticipates the need
for added traction and responds to wheel-slippage automatically to help
ensure you have a safe and carefree driving experience.
Flexible Seating and Storage
With an extra large bin above the glove compartment, a generous glove box,
and a large center console, this vehicle sports ample storage for your
friends and gear - as much as 61.8 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear
and front-passenger seatbacks folded. Load it up.
Standard Safety and Security System
Keeping you and your passengers safe and secure in the event of an accident
is very important to us. Compass is designed to protect you from the frame
up. A total of six airbags[7], a specially designed, energy-absorbing frame,
and new active front-seat head-restraints[1] help keep you safe in event of
an accident. While standard systems like Electronic Stability Control[8]
(ESC), antilock brakes, and the new standard Hill Start Assist help you try
to avoid an accident altogether
