2010 Chevrolet Tahoe
If you need an SUV with plenty of seating and towing power, the Chevrolet
Tahoe delivers. Easy-to-live-with handling and an inviting cabin are icing
on the cake.
Most reviewers agree that for families who need plenty of seating, towing
and foul-weather or off-road capability, the Chevrolet Tahoe is a compelling
choice. Its comfortable and inviting interior is a reviewer favorite, and
many say the Tahoe is surprisingly light on its feet for a large SUV.
The Chevrolet Tahoe was last redesigned in 2007, and changes for 2010 are
minimal. The 5.3 liter engine is now flex fuel capable, meaning it can run
on gasoline an E85 ethanol. A USB port is now standard; the port allows
stored music files to be played through the Tahoe's stereo and charges some
handheld devices. Later in 2010, a high-gas-mileage XFE trim will be
introduced, but if you really want to save on fuel, the Chevrolet Tahoe
Hybrid may be a better choice.
The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe's exterior styling is a strong point. Motor Week
says, compared to earlier models, the Tahoe has "vastly improved
aerodynamics, style, and fit and finish, with a power dome hood and seamless
wrap-around front fascia with jewel-like headlamp clusters." .
Though some buyers may remember lackluster passenger cabins from Chevrolet's
past, Motor Trend says the Chevrolet Tahoe's cabin is "nothing short of
stunning," and most reviews second that take. Though a third row offers
extra seating capacity, reviewers say those way-back seats are
uncomfortable. Also, competitors have third row seats that fold flat,
maximizing cargo room, while the Tahoe's bulky third row seats must be taken
out to for more cargo space.
"A Traverse can't traverse a mountain
attached to a 7,000-pound camper. A Flex isn't flexible enough to seat nine
people. The pilot of a Pilot isn't going to be very willing to tackle a
rocky trail. Sometimes you need an SUV that can deliver the macho-truck
goods that a crossover cannot. Sometimes you need the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe."
